Beloved figure, Günther Steiner, could be making a sensational return to Formula 1. Despite his sudden departure from Haas, the former team boss is far from finished with the paddock. After various roles as an analyst and ambassador, Günther Steiner is now reportedly looking to invest in his own F1 team – with Visa RB as a potential target.
From his analyses for German RTL, to a role as ambassador for the Miami GP, Günther Steiner is inextricably linked with Formula 1. After eight years of loyal service at Haas, the Italian-American Steiner is not currently active in the sport. However, he could soon have a stake in Formula 1 again. Literally.
According to Japanese Autosport Web, Günther Steiner wants to invest in his own Formula 1 team. The platform claims that he has already found backers who would like to get involved in the sport. During the race weekend in Japan, the 59-year-old Steiner said the following about a possible comeback. “I’ve been in Formula 1 for so many years,” said the former team boss. “I would want more than just to participate and score a point now and then. Only if I can fight for victories would I want to run a team again.”

Visa RB could be a potential target for Günther Steiner. Rumors began circulating in early April that the sister team of Red Bull might be sold. If Steiner wants to buy a leading role within the team from Faenza, he will have to meet a number of conditions. Reportedly, Red Bull engines must be used until 2030 and new drivers can only come from their own junior program.
