Yuki Tsunoda had a challenging weekend in Montreal. The Visa RB driver fought hard to maintain his position in the top ten, but a late slip-up cost him the race. The Japanese driver managed to avoid a nasty crash, eventually finishing in fourteenth place. To add insult to injury, Tsunoda was slapped with a hefty fine.

The Canadian Grand Prix was a disappointment for Yuki Tsunoda. With just four laps to go, he lost control of his VCARB01. He narrowly avoided a crash but lost his spot in the top ten. After the race, the Japanese driver took responsibility for the mishap. “It was my fault,” he admitted. “I had been struggling with the brakes throughout the race, but it was simply a foolish move.”

Not only did Tsunoda miss out on points, but he also received a significant fine. After the race, he was summoned to the stewards for an unusual violation. It turns out, Yuki Tsunoda was late for the Canadian national anthem during the race’s opening ceremony. This oversight cost the Japanese driver dearly – the FIA fined him a whopping 10,000 euros.

Despite a strong qualification from the Visa RB team, the Italian squad only took home four points – Daniel Ricciardo finished eighth. It’s only the third time the Australian has finished above his teammate. Tsunoda, who has been impressing in recent weeks, signed a new contract with Visa RB on Saturday – he will stay in Faenza until 2025.
