Carlos Sainz has been declared ‘persona non grata’ at Ferrari team meetings concerning the development of the 2025 vehicle. While his current teammate, Charles Leclerc, is expected to attend these meetings, Sainz is free to pursue other activities. The Spaniard will be leaving the Scuderia team after this season to make way for seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
In addition to technical meetings, Sainz will no longer play a role in simulator sessions related to next season’s Ferrari.
Sainz, who is still uncertain about his sporting future, expressed understanding for Ferrari team boss Frédéric Vasseur’s stance in the lead-up to the Austrian Grand Prix. “It’s clear they’re not going to put me in next year’s car meetings. If they do, they’re probably not very smart, because they know I’ll be driving elsewhere,” said Sainz.
