Reportedly, Visa RB is set to change its name once again in 2025. This season, the sister team of Red Bull was renamed Visa Cash App RB, much to the dismay of many fans. Aside from the fact that the name is not exactly catchy, main sponsor Visa is said to have been given too prominent a role in the team name of the Italian racing stable.

According to Hungarian Formula.hu, Visa RB will simply be called ‘Racing Bulls’ from the upcoming season. This aligns with the company name the team has adopted since the transition from AlphaTauri in 2023. The title ‘Racing Bulls’ has already been quietly incorporated into the current name, but is set to become the official designation for the team from 2025 onwards.

Critical Fans

The new name is not only easier to pronounce, but also gives the team more identity. When it was announced earlier this year that the former AlphaTauri would henceforth be called Visa Cash App RB, many fans voiced their criticism. It appears that the top brass at Red Bull has listened to the fans. In addition to the name change, the design of the cars is also said to be adjusted. Reportedly, the logos of Visa and Cash App will be less prominently displayed to make room for a larger image of the iconic bull. However, the sponsorship of the American payment giant is expected to remain untouched.

Visa RB has changed its name several times before. The Italian team was formed in 2006 when Red Bull bought the struggling Minardi and transformed it into Toro Rosso. The team was used to groom promising drivers for a Formula 1 contract with Red Bull. After fourteen years, Toro Rosso was renamed AlphaTauri in 2020, and we now know it as Visa RB.
