The Sauber team has decided to bring a special livery to the Las Vegas street circuit. The new ‘flaming hot’ livery of the Swiss team, which races as Stake F1 in Formula 1, features flames in the team’s usual neon green color.
Sauber is facing a number of major changes in the coming years. For instance, drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will be leaving at the end of the year, and they will be replaced in 2025 by Nico Hülkenberg and rookie Gabriel Bortoleto. Additionally, the Swiss team will be taken over by the German Audi in 2026. During the Las Vegas Grand Prix, a minor change is also on the agenda for the team, specifically to the usual neon green livery of the car.
Sauber hopes that the new look of the C44 will pay tribute to Las Vegas, “a city known for its vibrant nightlife, dazzling lights, and non-stop action”. The Swiss team has chosen flames as a symbol of the team’s steadfastness. The flames will also be visible on the racing suits of Bottas and Zhou. “We see every race as an opportunity, both on and off the track,” says team boss Alessandro Alunni Bravi in the official press release.
More Than Just a Design
“Stake has always helped us create fantastic one-off designs, and this is no exception,” the team boss continues. “Our special livery for Las Vegas is more than just a design, it also represents our ideals and the philosophy of Stake. We continue to push with our relentless passion, just like the city of Las Vegas itself, and we look forward to showcasing our fiery character in one of the most exciting phases of motorsport.”
