Many a motorist has experienced some form of damage, no matter how minor. Overlooking a post, hitting a curb, or parking just a tad too close to your neighbor’s car – it can happen to the best of us. That’s why it’s all the more impressive that Alpine driver Pierre Gasly managed to go through the incredibly long 2024 Formula 1 season without causing a single scratch. Hats off!
Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly made history by crossing the finish line without any damage once again during the final race in Abu Dhabi. In the spectacular 2024 season, where repair costs for most teams once again ran into the millions, the Frenchman consistently managed to finish unscathed. Moreover, he had a brilliant second half of the season. Thanks in part to Gasly, Alpine finished in sixth place in the championship. He himself ended the season in tenth place among the drivers – an impressive achievement, especially considering that there were as many as twenty-four participants this year.
‘Gives Confidence for Next Year’
“I’m so happy. It was a very long season,” Gasly responded to Formula1.com. “We didn’t cause any damage all year and, to top it all off, we finished in sixth place. We achieved our goals. I love seeing how the team and the car have developed this season – it really gives me confidence for next year.”
“The gap to the front is still very large,” he emphasized. “However, it’s good to see that our hard work in the factory is translating into better performances on the track. We’ve come a long way, but that has never stopped us. The focus has always been on developing the car as well as possible, also with an eye on 2025. In the end, we were never as strong as in the last few races. That, of course, makes me excited for the upcoming season – I will certainly go into the winter a bit more relaxed.
