Lewis Hamilton has concluded his tenure as a Mercedes driver and is inching closer to his debut in a Ferrari. The Italian racing team has now announced when fans can first lay eyes on the seven-time world champion’s inaugural Ferrari vehicle.
Lewis Hamilton shook the Formula 1 world at the start of 2024 by announcing his move to Ferrari. Now that the winter break has arrived, the countdown to Hamilton’s debut for the Scuderia can truly begin. Ferrari itself has announced that Hamilton’s first SF vehicle, currently known as Project 677, will be unveiled for the first time on February 19th.
Exclusive Event
The announcement comes during an exclusive event hosted by the Italians, and a day after the previously announced F175. During this event at the O2 Arena in London, all ten teams will reveal their liveries for the first time. Ferrari’s own event the following day is expected to offer more than just a first glimpse of the livery. The new Scuderia vehicle will make its debut on the track during the test days in Bahrain, from February 26th to 28th, 2025.
Whether Lewis Hamilton can indeed fulfill his dream of winning an eighth world title with the new Ferrari vehicle remains to be seen. His final season with Mercedes was not exactly smooth sailing for the world champion, and Hamilton even expressed his dissatisfaction during the last races. However, Ferrari immediately affirmed their continued confidence in the British driver.
