Jack Doohan, son of motorcycle racer and five-time MotoGP World Champion Mick Doohan, has carved his own path in the world of motorsport. Born on January 20, 2003, in Gold Coast, Australia, Doohan grew up in an environment steeped in speed and competition. He quickly demonstrated that he was more than just the son of a legend: he had an innate talent for four-wheel racing.
Doohan began his career in karting, where he impressed with multiple victories and podium finishes. His performances earned him a move to single-seaters in 2018, where he competed in the British F4 Championship. After his debut in British Formula 4, Doohan continued his journey through Italian F4, ADAC F4, and Asian F3. In 2020, he made the leap to the FIA Formula 3 Championship, where he finished second in 2021. His progression continued in Formula 2, where he finished sixth in his rookie season in 2022. The following year, he improved to third place, with three victories, including impressive back-to-back wins in the main races in Hungary and Belgium.
Doohan also joined the Alpine Academy program in 2022 and served as a reserve driver for the Alpine F1 team from 2023. He gained experience by participating in free practice sessions during Grands Prix in 2022, 2023, and 2024. His dedication and performances were rewarded with a Grand Prix debut during the 2024 season finale, due to the early departure of Esteban Ocon. In 2025, he made the full transition to Formula 1 as teammate to Pierre Gasly at Alpine.
