This upcoming weekend marks a significant milestone for Alexander Albon, as he will be participating in his 100th Formula 1 race during the United States Grand Prix. To celebrate this occasion, Williams is planning a week full of festivities. Albon will be racing in Austin with a special logo on his FW46.

Career So Far

Now in his fifth season in Formula 1, Albon has so far amassed 240 points and secured two podium finishes. His Formula 1 journey began in 2019 with Scuderia Toro Rosso, where he was promoted to Red Bull after just 12 races. After a season with Red Bull, he switched to DTM in 2021 before joining Williams in 2022. Since his arrival at Williams, Albon has scored an impressive 43 points, earning the team a seventh place in the constructors’ championship last year.

Milestone of 100 Formula 1 Races

“It’s a surreal feeling to reach this milestone,” Albon states in a press release from Williams. “The past five years have been full of challenges, but also incredibly rewarding. I’m grateful for every minute in this sport. It’s a beautiful moment to reflect on the progress I’ve made as a driver. I look forward to racing another 100 times.”

A Glimpse into the Future

Alex Albon recently confirmed his long-term commitment to Williams and will be partnering with Carlos Sainz next season, promising a powerful driver duo. James Vowles, team principal of Williams, is excited about the future and looks forward to celebrating this special moment. “Alex has proven in his 99 previous races that he is among the fastest and most determined drivers in the sport. We are delighted that he has confirmed his future with us.”

Fan Engagement Activities

As part of the celebrations, Albon will be present in the Fan Zone in downtown Austin, where he will meet fans and answer questions. His achievements will be showcased on a graffiti wall in the Fan Zone. His teammate Franco Colapinto, James Vowles, Jensen Button, and the most successful female driver in the world, Jamie Chadwick, will also be present. This reinforces the team’s commitment to providing unparalleled access to fans.
