It has been a recurring rumor: Aston Martin is trying to secure Max Verstappen. However, it now appears to be more than just speculation, as according to multiple sources, Aston Martin is already telling potential sponsors that the Dutchman will soon be driving in green. Verstappen could reportedly join the British team for a staggering 1.2 billion euros.

According to British Motor Sport Magazine, Aston Martin has already informed potential sponsors that Verstappen will be joining the team. Aston Martin itself, however, denies this. In principle, Verstappen still has a contract with Red Bull until 2028, but according to advisor Helmut Marko among others, the Dutchman might consider a move to a new team.

Verstappen himself was also asked about a potential move last year. “At the moment, I have other concerns that I am devoting a lot of attention and work to,” said the driver then. “So that might be something for the future that I think about, not now. I know that Lawrence (Stroll, ed.) is doing everything he can to make it a success and I hope for them that it can be a success.”

The Door is Always Open

In 2024, Aston Martin stated that the four-time world champion is always welcome in Silverstone. “The door is always open for Max Verstappen, I think, at any team,” said then team boss Mike Krack. The British racing team has recently signed several top talents from other teams. For instance, Chassis and Aerodynamics Chief Enrico Cardile came from Ferrari, Head of Aerodynamics Dan Fallows from Red Bull, and Mercedes aerodynamicist Eric Blandin from the German team.

Aston Martin’s greatest success came with the signing of top designer Adrian Newey, who will start working with the British racing team from March 3rd.
