The much-anticipated Formula 1 movie featuring Brad Pitt has finally been given a release date. The film is set to hit the big screens on June 25, 2025. Notably, Lewis Hamilton is one of the producers of this project. The title of the film, however, remains under wraps.
Last year, the film garnered significant attention when the actors were spotted during the driver parade preceding the British Grand Prix. Pitt plays the role of a former Formula 1 driver, Sonny Hayes, who makes a comeback to the F1 grid after a long hiatus. The American actor, along with British actor Damson Idris, was seen amidst the current Formula 1 grid drivers. Pitt was seen sporting a racing suit of the fictional team APX GP. A special garage was also set up in the paddock for the fictional eleventh team, and Pitt was seen driving a modified Formula 2 car around the Silverstone circuit during the training sessions.
Hamilton as a Producer
Reportedly, Pitt has been filming at Silverstone over the past few weeks and will be there again during the upcoming British Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton, in addition to being a producer, has been closely involved with the script to ensure the film’s authenticity. “We want everyone to love the film and truly feel that we are capturing the essence of this sport,” Hamilton stated last year.
Alongside Pitt, the film will also feature actors Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, Samson Kayo, and Callie Cooke. Joseph Kosinski, the director of Top Gun: Maverick, is directing the film, while Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean, is co-producing the film with Hamilton.
