As of January 1, 2025, Carlos Sainz is no longer a Ferrari driver. The Spaniard has been replaced at Scuderia by Lewis Hamilton and is embarking on his new journey with Williams. His former team boss, Frédéric Vasseur, predicts that Sainz will perform well with the British racing team and reveals that Scuderia will miss the Smooth Operator.
Carlos Sainz was informed in early 2024 that he would have to make way for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. After much deliberation, the Spaniard decided to move to Williams. Despite Ferrari’s eagerness to start the season with Hamilton, team boss Frédéric Vasseur says the Italian team will also miss Sainz.
“The human factor he was able to bring and his collaboration with Charles Leclerc have been significant,” the Frenchman tells DAZN. “Carlos always gives one hundred percent and is very consistent. This has been a great advantage for us. If he didn’t finish in the top positions, it meant that the car was not yet good.”

Vasseur also praises Sainz for his excellent collaboration with the entire Ferrari team and therefore sees the Spaniard performing well at Williams. “Carlos is going to do great with Williams. He has the ability to adapt and also the advantage of experience. He will be able to work easily with the team,” concludes Vasseur.
