It’s 2025, and that means Carlos Sainz is officially no longer a Ferrari driver. The Spaniard is being replaced by Lewis Hamilton and is himself moving to Williams. However, Sainz did not leave without thanking the tifosi, in Italian, one last time.

As of 2025, Carlos Sainz is officially a Williams driver, and from March he will be on the grid as teammate to Alexander Albon. Just before the turn of the year, the Madrid-born driver took the time to thank the tifosi, Ferrari’s fans, for their support during his years as a driver for the Scuderia.

“Hello everyone, I’m reading all the letters I’ve received from the Scuderia Ferrari fan clubs. I’ve read them all and I want to thank you very much for the words you’ve used,” Sainz says in Italian via Ferrari’s social media channels. “It’s an honor for me to see how much affection you have for me, how you’ve supported me all these years.”

“It makes me even happier to see that you have written that you continue to support me a little, even after I left Scuderia Ferrari,” continues the now Williams driver. “That’s why I’m sending you all a big hug and thanking everyone once again for the incredible support you’ve given me. Ciao!”

Follow Request to Hamilton

Meanwhile, Ferrari is also focusing on the future, and on the arrival of Lewis Hamilton. The social media team saw the opportunity on New Year’s Day to ask the Brit to follow Ferrari on X at precisely the right moment. Ferrari posted the message at 15:44 UTC, the start numbers of Charles Leclerc and Hamilton respectively. The seven-time world champion has since granted the request.
