Carlos Sainz is confident that he could sign a new contract at the snap of his fingers. The Spanish driver is yet to secure a seat for 2025, but according to him, the teams are lining up to offer him a deal. Sainz speaks of ‘multiple options’ all ready to offer him a deal today. He, however, is waiting for the right moment – everything must happen on his terms.

Ever since Lewis Hamilton announced in February that he is moving to Ferrari, all eyes have been on Carlos Sainz. The driver was sacrificed for the seven-time world champion. The driver carousel is in full swing, but it remains quiet in Sainz’s camp. The 29-year-old driver recently appeared on the Spanish evening show El Hormiguero, where he revealed some details about his upcoming transfer.

‘Plenty of Options’

“I have plenty of options in front of me,” Carlos Sainz reiterated. “I would prefer to make a decision soon, as I want to focus on the rest of the season with Ferrari.” His final season with the Scuderia was more important to Sainz than a new contract. “I have a car that has already given me several podiums and even a victory. That’s what I want to focus on.”

Sainz reported that several teams are willing to work with him. “All the teams that don’t have a complete line-up for 2025 want me,” he confidently stated. “They have all made me an offer – I could sign a new contract tomorrow. But I’m taking it slow.”

In the paddock, it is persistently maintained that Sainz only has to choose between Williams and Sauber. All other teams are a station already passed. Mercedes, the last top team that still has a seat to offer, recently admitted that it will not be working with the smooth operator.
