Christian Horner has revealed that Red Bull is open to collaborating with Daniel Ricciardo, despite the end of his racing career with Visa RB. This opens up opportunities for the Australian to embark on a new chapter in his career.
A New Chapter
After his final race in Singapore, Ricciardo has decided to take a step back and contemplate his future. Even though his spot has been taken over by Liam Lawson, the connection with Red Bull remains intact. Horner has indicated that it’s possible for Ricciardo to take on an ambassadorial role, for instance, at marketing and promotional events, similar to the role that David Coulthard still fulfills. “Daniel is always welcome to join us in whatever role he chooses. With his immense popularity in the sport, it would be great if he could contribute to us in the future,” Horner shares.
A New Challenge in Supercars?
Meanwhile, Ricciardo also has the option to continue his racing career in Supercars, a prestigious motor racing series in Australia. Shane Howard, the boss of Supercars, has made it clear that they would welcome Ricciardo with open arms. “Imagine him participating in a street race in Perth or racing during Bathurst. That would be fantastic,” Howard suggests. Howard plans to contact Ricciardo’s management at an appropriate time to discuss the possibilities.
However, Ricciardo himself is cautious about a potential switch to other racing classes. He has indicated that he wonders whether he can find the same satisfaction in other series after his experiences in Formula 1. “I love NASCAR and other motorsports, but I wonder if I can get that same feeling as in Formula 1,” Ricciardo says.
