On Sunday, Lewis Hamilton drove his final race for Mercedes. After twelve years of loyal service to the Silberpfeile, the seven-time world champion has chosen a new challenge with Ferrari in 2025. Despite a disappointing qualification – Hamilton started from the sixteenth spot due to ‘bad luck’ – the 39-year-old Brit drove an impressive race. He fought his way forward and eventually finished fourth, behind Lando Norris and the two Ferraris. In the final lap, he also managed to overtake teammate George Russell. During the cooldown lap, Hamilton said his first goodbyes to his team over the on-board radio and reflected on the past years.

Good luck with your next adventure.” Hamilton concluded his final on-board radio message with the words: “I love you all, truly.” Toto Wolff responded in turn with a remarkable promise: “We love you too. You will always be a part of the family. If we can’t win, we wish it for you.” This promises an interesting future battle with Ferrari.
