Enrico Cardile, who has been the technical director at Ferrari since last year, is reported to have accepted an offer from Aston Martin. The 49-year-old engineer is believed to have signed a new contract with the British racing team, which aims to seriously contend for the world championship from 2026. With Cardile’s departure, the path is clear for Adrian Newey, who has long been linked with Ferrari.

According to the usually well-informed source, Enrico Cardile is on his way to Aston Martin. After much deliberation, the Italian is said to have accepted an offer from Lawrence Stroll. Cardile is an expert in aerodynamics and joined the Formula 1 team at Ferrari in 2016. After serving as the head of aerodynamics and the chassis department, he was promoted to technical director with the arrival of team boss Fred Vasseur.

Earlier this year, it was accurately predicted that Jerome d’Ambrioso and Loic Serra would move to the Scuderia. The latter is expected to take over some of Cardile’s duties in the coming time. More importantly, Ferrari now has the opportunity to attract Adrian Newey. The master designer from Red Bull still does not have a contract for 2025 and has been on the radar in Maranello for some time.

At Aston Martin, Newey is also in demand. According to the latest rumors, the 65-year-old Brit recently received an exclusive tour in Silverstone. Whether he will remain active in Formula 1 in the future is still unclear.
