The 2024 Formula 1 season will not be remembered as a highlight in Fernando Alonso’s career. It became clear early in the year that Aston Martin was falling behind and struggling to keep up with the top teams. Despite his experience and fighting spirit, success eluded the Spanish veteran. With no podium finishes and only a ninth place in the championship, the season ended differently than hoped. The frustration throughout the season was clearly visible in the seasoned driver, especially after the race in Austin. After a battle with rookie Liam Lawson, a heated exchange took place between the two drivers (see photo above).

It was an uneventful race for the Spaniard in Brazil. However, the radio communication during the final stages of the race is something that certainly should not be overlooked in his year. Despite the pain in his back, Fernando Alonso completed the race for his engineers.
