Former Williams driver, Logan Sargeant, may be embarking on a new journey in motorsports. The American has been granted a test run with the IndyCar team, Meyer Shank Racing, during their final testing day.
Sargeant’s test day will take place on November 19 at the Thermal Club in Thermal, California, USA. According to reports, the American will have the opportunity to showcase his talent on the nearly five-kilometer-long track with seventeen turns, and prove whether he is more suited for IndyCar than Formula 1. Sargeant’s IndyCar test comes just in time, as there are not many seats left for the upcoming season.
Sargeant’s IndyCar test day is not only a new territory for the American himself, but it also marks the first time that the Meyer Shank Racing team will be making their test debut for their new technical alliance with Chip Ganassi Racing. Both Meyer Shank and Chip Ganassi currently have no vacancies in their five IndyCar teams, but Sargeant’s test could be an opportunity for the American to secure a seat with another team.
Sargeant’s Brief Formula 1 Career
The former F1 driver made his debut in the premier class in 2023, as a driver for the British team, Williams. Sargeant was the teammate of Alexander Albon for two years. In August, Williams decided to end their partnership with Sargeant, and the Florida native was replaced by Argentine Franco Colapinto.
