Last week, Max Verstappen participated in the virtual version of the 24 Hours of Daytona, but the Dutchman is far from the only F1 driver to compete in the renowned 24-hour race in 2025. The road race is scheduled for the upcoming weekend, and these former Formula 1 drivers are participating in the event.

While Formula 1 is the premier class within the world of motorsport, it is certainly not the only racing series. Many former F1 drivers are now trying their luck in other branches of motorsport, including during the 24-hour race at the Daytona International Speedway. We highlight a few of these former F1 drivers who are participating in the 24 Hours of Daytona this year.

Magnussen

For instance, Kevin Magnussen is starting in Daytona less than two months after his last Formula 1 race with Haas. The Dane is competing in the GTP class in a BMW M Hybrid V8, with, among others, the Belgian Dries Vanthoor as a teammate. The driver had previously announced a return to the IMSA series with BMW.

Grosjean and Kvyat

Romain Grosjean, who has been out of Formula 1 for some time, will also be starting in Daytona. The driver ended his F1 career in 2020, after surviving a horrific crash during the Bahrain Grand Prix. Grosjean’s teammate is former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat, who also left F1 after 2020. Kvyat had previously made way at Red Bull for Max Verstappen.

Massa

Felipe Massa, who was on the Formula 1 grid from 2002 to 2017, will be racing in the Daytona event in the LMP2 class, along with former Haas driver Pietro Fittipaldi. Paul di Resta, Sebastien Bourdais, Pascal Wehrlein, Gianmaria Bruni, Kamui Kobayashi, Jack Aitken, Brendon Hartley, Will Stevens, and Felipe Nasr round out the list of the fourteen former F1 drivers.
