Former Formula 1 team boss Eddie Jordan has revealed that he has been diagnosed with an ‘aggressive’ form of bladder and prostate cancer. The former owner of Jordan Grand Prix made the revelation on his own podcast on Thursday. “Get tested,” the Irishman subsequently urges everyone.

Jordan was the team boss and owner of the former Jordan Grand Prix from 1991 to 2005 and currently serves as an analyst and podcast host. It was during the latest episode of his own podcast, Formula For Success, which he co-hosts with former F1 driver David Coulthard, that the Irishman announced his cancer diagnosis.

“In March and April, I was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer, and then it spread to the spine and pelvis, so it was quite aggressive,” Jordan candidly shares. The Irishman admits that he has gone through “a few very dark days” since his diagnosis. “But fortunately, we’ve come out of it.”

The Dublin-born Jordan then has an important call to his listeners. “This is a small message, and everyone needs to listen to this: Don’t put it off. Get tested, because you have chances in life,” says Jordan. “And there is so much medical advice and there are so many things you can do to extend your life. Don’t be so foolish. Don’t be shy. Take good care of your body, guys.
