After the delightful conditions in Baku – temperatures around 27 degrees Celsius and a gentle northeast wind – Formula 1 is set for a challenge. This week, Max Verstappen and his colleagues are heading to Singapore and the Marina Bay Street Circuit for a grueling street race, with equally grueling weather conditions. Here’s the weather forecast for the Singapore GP!

Formula 1 is in the second half of the season, and it’s time for a pair of street races. After the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan, this weekend is all about the Singapore GP on the nearly five-kilometer-long Marina Bay Street Circuit. The Asian metropolis has been hosting a night race since 2008, which always provides a spectacle. This year promises to be another challenging Grand Prix, partly due to the ominous weather forecasts.

Weather Forecast for the Singapore Grand Prix

This week, Singapore is experiencing stormy weather! Heavy thunderstorms are sweeping across the city, with a significant amount of rain expected. On Friday, when the first free practice sessions are scheduled, the storms will primarily occur in the morning. There will undoubtedly be some rainfall; the current chance of precipitation is around 90%. It will be a challenging day, as the feels-like temperature will hover around 38 degrees Celsius all day. Combined with a humidity level of over 70%, the drivers will be sweating profusely.

The weather will continue to play a role over the weekend. On Saturday, the feels-like temperature will reach a high of 39 degrees, and there is an 85% chance of rain. The humidity level will not decrease. Therefore, the qualification round will also be a tough test. During the Grand Prix, the weather conditions will remain the same, although there is a chance that the rain will decrease as the evening progresses. However, the feels-like temperature will remain at 39 degrees Celsius. For drivers like Max Verstappen, adapting to these conditions will be crucial for a successful race strategy.
