From Monza’s Heat to Baku’s Challenge: Weather Update and Expectations for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix

After the tropical temperatures of Monza, Formula 1 is gearing up for a new challenge in Baku. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is set to take place this coming weekend, and the treacherous street circuit promises its usual spectacle. According to the latest weather forecasts, the drivers might find it challenging to keep their cool. Here’s the weather forecast for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix!

In Monza, Max Verstappen and his colleagues were plagued by extreme heat. The Italian asphalt reached temperatures of up to 60 degrees Celsius, while fans in the stands had to be careful not to get sunburned. In Baku, it seems to be less hot, although it remains quite warm by the Caspian Sea. Tire wear will undoubtedly play a significant role on the fastest street circuit of the Formula 1 calendar.

Weather Forecast for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix

According to the latest predictions, the drivers will face temperatures of about 29 degrees Celsius on Friday. During the free practice sessions, a cloud might drift over, but the chance of precipitation is negligible. Throughout the weekend, a gentle northeast wind blows, and the temperature drops to around 22 degrees in the evening.

On Saturday, when the decisive qualification takes place, little changes. The temperature is expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius with again a 0% chance of rain, although it remains slightly cloudy. Sunday will be warm again in Azerbaijan, with plenty of sun during the Grand Prix. With a whopping 12 hours of sunshine, it’s important that race attendees pack their sunscreen again.
