According to team boss Ayao Komatsu, Haas has hit a ceiling. This year, drivers Nico Hülkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, and Oliver Bearman have already collected thirty-one points, with the team now chasing the sixth spot in the Constructors’ Championship. However, if Haas wants to climb further up the grid in the future, more investment is needed.

“In its current form, as the team is now set up, we can’t perform much better,” Ayao Komatsu recently stated. “The good news is that Gene (Haas) has always said he wants to continue investing in our team, provided we get the most out of our current resources. That’s exactly what we’re doing right now.” Haas currently holds a respectable seventh place in the championship. The sixth spot is within reach; Visa RB only has three more points than the Americans.

“Gene started investing after just three races,” revealed Komatsu. “In Melbourne, he already agreed to certain improvements. We need to keep investing in the team and improving things. The ceiling needs to be much higher if we want to continue performing better.” Haas has already made a significant leap compared to last year. In 2023, the team finished at the bottom of the championship with only twelve World Championship points. This year, Haas managed to achieve that points total in Austria in just one weekend.

“Just keep maximizing what we have at hand now, then there’s already enough reason to invest in our team,” concluded Komatsu. “This way, we can gradually, step by step, increase our capabilities. If we don’t do that, we can never fight for the seventh place in the championship in the future.”
