Not only is Red Bull bringing a special livery to the Suzuka Circuit, but Haas will also be racing in unique colors for the Japanese race weekend. The American team is paying a special tribute to the ‘sakura’, the Japanese cherry blossom trees that are currently in bloom.
With the special livery, featuring the pink blossom prominently on the VF-25, Haas is honoring the start of the Japanese blossom season. The blossom season is popular in Japan, and coincides this year with the Grand Prix weekend at Suzuka. The American team announced the special appearance of their car through a video on their social media channels.
Ready for Suzuka
The weekend in Japan will be particularly special for Haas driver Oliver Bearman. In addition to driving with the special Haas livery, it will be the first time the Brit races in Formula 1 at Suzuka. “I’m really looking forward to racing in Japan. The circuit looks fantastic. Our collaboration with Toyota is also going to be a great event,” Bearman says in the official press release. “The circuit looks like a highlight, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Team boss Ayao Komatsu, for whom the Japanese Grand Prix is a home game, is primarily hoping to build on the good results from Shanghai. There, the Haas drivers achieved a double points finish. “Although we were competitive in Shanghai, we know we still have a fundamental problem with the car,” warns the Japanese. “We’re going into this weekend ready to tackle any challenges and get the best out of the VF-25 and our drivers.”
