This week, Lewis Hamilton is once again taking the wheel of a Ferrari vehicle. After previous tests at Fiorano and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the seven-time world champion is back in Spain. So far, Hamilton has only had a ‘taste’ of the 2022 and 2023 cars; the F1-75 and the SF-23. On Tuesday, he will make his first laps in the SF-24, the car from the last Formula 1 season.

Hamilton’s first laps at his home circuit in Fiorano were widely covered in the international media. When he returned to action in Barcelona last week, he seemed to buckle under the pressure. After a minor crash, the session was prematurely terminated. Ferrari immediately downplayed the incident – it was expected that Hamilton would need time to adjust to the new equipment during this testing phase. This week, the British star hopes to redeem himself in the SF-24, the vehicle with which teammate Charles Leclerc competed for the championship last year.

Both Ferrari drivers will take a few test laps on Tuesday and Wednesday. On behalf of tyre supplier Pirelli, they will test the tyres for the 2026 season. McLaren will also participate in these tests.

Hamilton will have to wait a while before he can race with his own Ferrari; the SF-25, as the latest model will probably be called, will not be unveiled until February 18. The Scuderia did post photos of the new team outfits on social media on Tuesday. Notably, the yellow stripes have disappeared from the design. The bright blue logo of main sponsor HP has, much to the disappointment of some fans, remained.
