Former world champion Nico Rosberg has high expectations for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. According to Rosberg, the Briton is fully ‘back in business’ with his move. “His choice shows the hunger of a man who wants to keep growing, both as a driver and as a person.”
“Lewis has nothing to prove and yet he has put himself back in the game; he continues to push the boundaries,” Rosberg tells Gazetta dello Sport.
“Lewis is driven by a deep love for the sport and a desire to keep pushing his boundaries. A change like the one he is facing this year can reignite the passion. Lewis is already a legend, he has nothing to prove, but his choice shows the hunger of a man who wants to keep growing, both as a driver and as a person.”
‘I Fulfilled My Dream’
Hamilton hopes to claim his eighth world record with Ferrari, which would make him the record holder. The Briton won his first title in 2008 with McLaren and won six with Mercedes in seven years, from 2014 to 2020. His streak was interrupted by Rosberg, who triumphed in 2016 and retired from the sport a few days later.
Rosberg says he has never regretted his decision for a second. “I fulfilled my dream of becoming world champion and I wanted to stop at the peak of my career. By retiring, I was able to spend more time with my family and start my career as an investor.”
