Arthur Leclerc will be in action for Ferrari during the first free practice in Abu Dhabi. Carlos Sainz, who is bidding farewell to the Scuderia this weekend, will have to give up his car. As a result, the two Leclerc brothers will be driving together on the Yas Marina circuit – a first in Formula 1. Arthur Leclerc may become Ferrari’s reserve driver next year.

Arthur Leclerc, the younger brother of Charles, was included in Ferrari’s training program in 2020. Since then, he has driven Formula 1 cars on several occasions, although he has never officially participated during a race weekend. This will change in Abu Dhabi; the 24-year-old Monegasque will take on the first free practice on the opening day. Carlos Sainz, who is driving his last GP for Ferrari at the Yas Marina Circuit, will have to give up his car.

Making History

As a result, regular driver Charles Leclerc and his younger brother will be making history. This is the first time that two brothers will be driving on a circuit for the same team. Arthur Leclerc will also participate in the post-season test on Tuesday, where he will share a car with Antonio Fuoco. Charles Leclerc will drive his own SF-24. His younger brother Arthur may become a reserve driver for Ferrari next year.

Lewis Hamilton, who is making the much-anticipated move to the Scuderia next year, will skip the post-season test. He will prepare for his debut with a number of special test days at Fiorano later. Carlos Sainz, who is making way for the seven-time world champion, will already join Williams in Abu Dhabi. The Spaniard will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the British racing team during the test day, before he officially makes his transfer in 2025.
