Next year, Charles Leclerc is set to face off against Lewis Hamilton – the seven-time world champion who is making the much-anticipated move to Ferrari. The two drivers are increasingly seen together in the paddock. How is the Ferrari chief preparing his future teammate for his Ferrari debut?

Many experts anticipate fireworks when the Brit makes his entrance in Maranello. Charles Leclerc has been the main man at Ferrari for years – the arrival of a global star like Lewis Hamilton could change this dynamic. However, the 26-year-old Monegask is not worried. He is looking forward to working with the Mercedes veteran and is already sharing tips about driving for the Scuderia.

Leclerc Discusses Conversations with Hamilton

Sky Sports asked Leclerc about his conversations with Hamilton – what do the two discuss? “We talk about everything,” he responded. “Of course, we also discuss how things are going with Ferrari and what we can improve. But that’s just a small part of our discussions.” The six-time race winner confirms that his future teammate is still focused on Mercedes.

“His focus is still on the current season, so we can’t exchange much information,” Leclerc continued. “We’re just preparing a bit for next year. We share a lot of interests – design, fashion, and so on. The majority of our conversations are about private matters.”

Looking Forward to Hamilton’s Arrival

Leclerc can’t wait to officially welcome Hamilton to the team. “I’m already looking forward to it,” he said enthusiastically. “He is the most successful driver in the history of the sport – I can obviously learn a lot from him. It’s also a great opportunity to show what I can do. We have a good relationship, and I have an incredible amount of respect for Lewis and everything he has achieved. It’s fantastic that I’ll be able to compare myself to him. He doesn’t really have any weaknesses, so it’s going to be super interesting.”

Team boss Fred Vasseur played a significant role in persuading Lewis Hamilton to join. The Frenchman has played a big part in the development of both the British driver and Charles Leclerc. “I appreciate Fred a lot,” said the Monegasque. “He knew me before I came to Formula 1. That allows us to be very honest with each other. If something needs to be improved, we say it straight away.”
