Logan Sargeant Set to Join IndyCar with Prema Racing in 2025 After Parting Ways with Williams F1 Team

June 24th, 2024, 10:27 AM

According to reliable sources, Logan Sargeant is set to transition from Formula 1 to IndyCar next year. The American, who has been under scrutiny at his current employer, Williams, is said to have signed an agreement with Prema Racing. The Italian racing team will make its debut in the IndyCar Series in 2025.

Sargeant’s time at Williams, where he is in his second Formula 1 season, appears to be coming to an end. The British racing team recently extended its contract with Alexander Albon, and team boss James Vowles has been openly courting Carlos Sainz, who is set to leave Ferrari at the end of this year. It’s an open secret that the paths of the American driver and Williams will part ways by the end of December at the latest.

For Sargeant, a door has opened in his home country to continue his career at a high level. The entry of Prema Racing, coupled with the sponsorship budget he brings, could offer him a seat in the American equivalent of Formula 1. The match seems logical: the Italian racing team and Sargeant are no strangers to each other. In 2020, the American drove for Prema in Formula 3, where he finished the championship in third place.
