Max Verstappen is looking to put his feud with George Russell behind him. During the media day leading up to the Abu Dhabi GP, a verbal war broke out between the two drivers. After the grid penalty Verstappen received in Qatar, he had had enough of ‘backstabber’ Russell. However, on Saturday he wanted to calm things down. “It will be fine,” he assured.

On Saturday, both Red Bull drivers gave a public interview in the fan zone in Abu Dhabi. During the conversation, the feud between Max Verstappen and George Russell was also briefly discussed. The interviewer asked the Dutch champion which drivers he would like to have on his team during a game of paintball. “George Russell,” someone in the audience shouted. “No, he should be on the other team,” Verstappen joked.

“Of course, that was a joke,” he continued seriously. “Of course, we all have arguments from time to time. I’m sure we’ll work it out, but at the same time, it’s good to take a little break. But I’m sure we’ll see each other in Monaco again; everything will be fine.” Verstappen previously stated that he and Russell enjoy playing padel together in their free time. Hopefully, some joint photos from the padel court will be shared again during the Christmas holidays.
