Max Verstappen secured an impressive nine victories and his fourth world championship title in Formula 1 with the RB20. However, it’s far from his favourite Red Bull vehicle. “I never want to touch it again,” he joked after the final race in Abu Dhabi. In just a few weeks, Verstappen will get to take his first laps in the successor, the RB21. As Red Bull puts the finishing touches on this new racing beast, team boss Christian Horner hints at an early reveal.

The anniversary season of 2025 will officially kick off on February 18th during the F1 75 event at the O2 Arena in London. Teams are required to bring both their drivers and their new vehicles to the British capital. Given the popularity of the so-called launch events, the FOM has decided to bundle these reveals into one big presentation evening for the public. However, Red Bull has other plans, as Horner revealed this week to Sky Sports.

“I believe the team did an excellent job in resolving several issues and enhancing the car’s performance,” Horner reflected on the past season with the RB20. “Consider, for instance, the pole position and victory in Qatar, and Max Verstappen’s triumph in Brazil. We were also highly competitive in the sprint races in São Paulo and Austin.”

Regarding the upcoming RB21, Horner stated: “This is the first time Adrian Newey has not contributed to the new car, so it’s up to the team to take on the challenge. However, I have confidence in them. They possess ample strength and depth. We will see what the RB21 looks like when it is unveiled at the end of January.”
