This weekend, Max Verstappen faces a new challenge in the form of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. This third race on American soil also marks the beginning of a new triple header, a triptych set to decide both championships. Under the neon lights of Las Vegas, Verstappen could clinch his fourth title, although he remains cautious about the unique conditions in Nevada.

In a conversation with Verstappen.com, Max Verstappen first takes the time to reflect on his spectacular triumph in Brazil. The weather gods played a significant role in São Paulo, but the Dutchman proved phenomenal even in wet conditions. “Brazil was an incredible race for us and a very special moment for me and the team,” says the Red Bull driver. “It was great to see that we were returning to our old form. The team did a fantastic job, and we hope to continue this in the upcoming races.” Max’s victory was also a crushing blow for title rival Lando Norris. The Brit finished only sixth.

Chilly Conditions in Las Vegas

The focus now shifts to the Las Vegas Grand Prix – the latest addition to the calendar promises to be a spectacle, especially as Max Verstappen has the chance to claim the championship. Essentially, he only needs to stay ahead of Norris to deliver the final blow. “The Las Vegas Grand Prix marks the start of the final triple header of the year, so this is everyone’s last chance to push,” Verstappen looked ahead. “We performed well here last year and it’s a very fast circuit, with long straights and plenty of opportunities for overtaking and racing.”

However, the weather conditions in the Nevada desert seem set to play a role again. Formula 1 is facing one of the coldest weekends of the year. “It looks like it’s going to be relatively cold again, so managing the tires will be very important,” said Verstappen. Red Bull doesn’t have a special strategy. “We’re just taking it race by race,” concluded the Dutchman.
