The Spanish Grand Prix is just around the corner! For Max Verstappen, the Spanish asphalt holds a special place in his heart – it was here at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in 2016 that he claimed his first victory. Eight years later, with sixty wins under his belt, the Dutchman is set to defend his fourth title. Armed with a vibrant orange helmet, Verstappen is eager to prove himself once again in Spain.

The European season is now in full swing. After a pit stop in Canada, Max Verstappen is gearing up for five European races in just six weeks, starting with the Spanish Grand Prix. It’s a packed schedule, but the three-time world champion is ready to extend his lead in the championship even further. “The team and I are preparing as best we can for the Spanish GP,” he states in an official press release.

Maintaining Momentum

“I have very fond memories of this circuit,” Verstappen continues. “Of course, this is where I won my first Formula 1 race. The track has a good balance between fast and slow corners. We’ve performed well here in the past, so I’m curious to see what we can squeeze out of the car this weekend.”

Just two weeks ago, Verstappen climbed to the top step of the podium, despite facing stiff competition from his rivals. “I want to maintain this momentum,” he refers to his triumph at the Canadian Grand Prix. “I’m definitely looking forward to this weekend. Now, let’s hope for some good weather!” Good news for Verstappen: while the Canadian race was a complete washout, sunny conditions are expected for the race in Spain.
