What advice would Max Verstappen give to his younger self if he could go back in time? The four-time world champion was asked this question while participating in the virtual 24 Hours of Daytona. Despite being in the middle of the race, the Dutch driver took a moment to provide a thoughtful answer.
Max Verstappen made his Formula 1 debut at the age of 17. Now a four-time world champion, he has spent ten years in the premier class, learning a great deal along the way. What advice would he give to his younger self if he could travel back in time? Verstappen answered this question during the livestream of the virtual 24 Hours of Daytona.
No Advice
“Honestly, I wouldn’t give any advice,” says the Dutchman, immediately explaining why. “In the end, you have to make mistakes in life. Sometimes, you have to learn the hard way. If you knew everything in advance, I think that would be very boring.”
Verstappen is about to start his eleventh season in the premier class. The Dutch driver has already achieved 63 victories and forty pole positions. “In the end, when you’ve done it yourself, that’s the only time you change something or learn from it,” Verstappen concludes his advice.
