McLaren has chosen a new livery for the Monaco Grand Prix as a tribute to Ayrton Senna. The MCL38 will be adorned in yellow, green, and blue, inspired by the Brazilian’s iconic racing helmet. This tribute comes 30 years after the legendary driver tragically lost his life in a crash at Imola.

Special Senna Livery for the Race Weekend

The special Senna livery will provide the McLaren with a vibrant color scheme throughout the entire race weekend. The design promises to be a colorful presence in the typically dark paddock of 2024. The MCL38 looks stunning in the special livery, and it’s hard to go wrong when using Ayrton Senna’s iconic color scheme.

Ayrton Senna: A Legend of the Track

The Brazilian legend drove most of his Grand Prix for the British team, for which he still holds the title of most successful driver. Between 1989 and 1993, he proved himself the ‘King of Monaco’ by winning the race through the principality five times in a row.

‘Icon of Formula 1’

“The team is proud to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Ayrton Senna with this color scheme,” says CEO Zak Brown in a press release. “Senna remains one of the greatest icons of Formula 1 and the most distinguished driver of McLaren. It’s an honor to race for him with this iconic livery.”

Bianca Senna, the niece of the late driver and a spokesperson for the Senna brand, is also pleased with the unique livery. “It’s a fantastic way to celebrate my uncle’s life,” she says. “McLaren brought him so much success, so it will be very special to see these cars drive on his favorite circuit.”
