McLaren is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Grand Prix weekend in Brazil. The British racing team performed well in Mexico, with Lando Norris securing second place, contributing to their pursuit of two world titles. They hope to replicate this success during the race at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace. However, team boss Andrea Stella cautions that his team must remain level-headed and not underestimate the competition.
With only four races left, McLaren is on track to clinch this year’s constructor’s title. Lando Norris is also still in the running for the driver’s title, which has resulted in a number of intense on-track battles with his closest rival, Max Verstappen, in recent races. Despite this, the Brit is looking forward to the Grand Prix weekend in São Paulo.”It’s great to head into the weekend after a P2 finish in Mexico,” Lando Norris looks ahead, in the official McLaren press release. “It’s been a busy few weeks for all of us with consecutive races, so it’s nice to put down a strong result halfway through before we head to Brazil.” The race weekend in Brazil is again a sprint weekend, and the McLaren driver therefore hopes to make his mark in São Paulo.
The Battle Continues
Team boss Andrea Stella also reflects on a ‘challenging, but positive’ weekend in Mexico, despite Oscar Piastri’s eighth-place finish. “We take all the positive points, such as a successful upgrade package and a lot of resilience, to Brazil. They motivate us to keep pushing in these critical last few races,” says the Italian.
McLaren remains sharp during the final races, as the team does not expect things to go smoothly from now on. “Just as we expected, the battle for the championship is incredibly close and our competitors continue to develop and make their own strides forward,” Stella warns. “However, we remain focused on the work ahead of us and keep our heads cool to deliver a fast car for the drivers and more points for the team.”
