Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is pleased with the start of the season for his team, but the racing stable does not have a sense of ‘complacency’. The Austrian is looking forward to the Grand Prix weekend in Miami, hoping to be more competitive there, partly due to the knowledge gained in Jeddah.

With 111 points, Mercedes currently sits neatly in second place in the constructors’ championship. And that while the team is still waiting for its first victory of this season. George Russell came closest in Bahrain, when he crossed the finish line in second place. Teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s best result so far was a fourth place during the opening race in Melbourne, and he finished in the top ten in four of the five races.

“We had a good start to the season, but we don’t feel that we now have a right to a sense of complacency,” summarizes team boss Toto Wolff the start of the Mercedes season in the Miami preview. Formula 1 is heading to the American city this weekend, where Mercedes reportedly brings a new livery and goes by the name of the Pink Arrows for one race.

Competitiveness

Wolff sets clear goals for his team during the American race weekend. “We want to continue and expand the positive trajectory that we have followed so far in the first five races. Saudi Arabia was a more challenging Grand Prix, but with high temperatures and the same tire composition as in Jeddah, we learned a lot that we can take to Miami. We hope to be more competitive.”
