Mick Schumacher Eyes Alpine F1 Seat for 2025: Set for Head-to-Head Test with Jack Doohan at Circuit Paul Ricard

June 24th, 2024, 2:15 PM

Mick Schumacher, currently racing in the WEC team for the French stable, is a strong contender for a spot in Alpine’s 2025 lineup. Rumor has it that he will soon be testing with Formula 1 equipment, potentially paving the way for his return. Schumacher is up against Jack Doohan, Alpine’s inexperienced test driver, who is also gearing up for the 2025 season.

Mick Schumacher is reportedly set to represent Alpine on July 3rd. The French team will provide an A522 for a series of test laps at Circuit Paul Ricard. He will immediately face off against Jack Doohan – the Australian test driver is also expected to complete a number of test laps that day. Both are in the running to replace Esteban Ocon from 2025 onwards.

Mick Schumacher’s Career and Future Prospects

Mick Schumacher, the youngest of the Schumacher lineage, is currently participating in the WEC championship with Alpine. The 25-year-old racer recently competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, after a single stint, he and his team had to withdraw from the race. Apart from endurance racing, he is also associated with the Mercedes Formula 1 team. Schumacher has been hoping for a comeback for some time now. After two unsuccessful seasons with Haas, he was dismissed from the premier class in 2023.
