Who is the ultimate Formula 1 driver: seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton or three-time world champion Max Verstappen? Former racer Ralf Schumacher has a clear preference for the Dutchman. “In terms of talent, there’s more room for growth in Max,” believes the German.
Verstappen is still on track to clinch his fourth Formula 1 world title, despite the current issues at Red Bull. Hamilton won his home race at Silverstone for Mercedes this year and hopes to make further progress with Ferrari from next year.
“We’ve seen in Formula 1 that it’s up to a team to provide its drivers with the car to win a Grand Prix,” Schumacher tells the German Formel1.de. “We all thought Lewis Hamilton could walk on water. And personally, I thought Max Verstappen could walk on water. I think there’s more room for growth in Max’s talent than in Lewis. That puts him in a different category.”
