In an interview with Viaplay, Helmut Marko revealed that the team’s plans for the second seat of Visa Cash App RB for the 2025 season will be announced in Singapore. With only two seats remaining open on the Formula 1 grid for 2025 (RB and Sauber), there is much speculation about who will fill these final spots.

While Sauber has indicated that they will only reveal their plans for 2025 at the end of the season, clarity is expected soon from RB. According to Marko, a decision will be made about the second seat next to Yuki Tsunoda after the Singapore Grand Prix. “We have an idea. Wait until Singapore. By then, we will have a clear picture,” said the Red Bull advisor.

Liam Lawson High on Red Bull’s Shortlist

Liam Lawson, who made a significant impression last season when he stepped in for Daniel Ricciardo, appears to be high on Red Bull’s shortlist. Ricciardo himself has not been in top form since his return to Formula 1, which could potentially impact his future with Red Bull. Originally, Ricciardo was considered as a replacement for Sergio Pérez, but this could change if Pérez manages to regain his form in the final eight races of the season.

However, Lawson has a clause in his contract stating that he may leave Red Bull if he does not secure a seat by 2025. This could be a significant blow for Red Bull, as Lawson would take valuable knowledge of the team’s operations with him to a competitor.

Upcoming Singapore Grand Prix

With the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix on the horizon, the question remains as to who will ultimately secure the coveted second seat at Red Bull. It appears that Red Bull will soon provide clarity on the future of its drivers.
