The FIA has unveiled images of the future single-seaters for the 2026 season, with regulations modified to make them faster and safer.
The 2026 season will primarily mark the arrival of a new engine, but the single-seaters will also evolve in their silhouette and aerodynamics. At the FIA World Council this week in Kigali, Rwanda, the federation presented the new outlines of this regulatory change and unveiled images that give an idea of the design of the future F1 cars.
Among the changes compared to the first regulation presented last June, the main ones include a widening of the floor, a rear wing that can be composed of three parts with a maximum of two movable ones, revised wheel flaps, and two flaps arranged on the front wing with two different modes, one for turns, one for straight lines.
Teams will be able to work on the single-seaters for the 2026 season starting from January 1, 2025.
The end of the “mini-DRS” was officially announced by the FIA.
