Richard Verschoor will continue to race in Formula 2 next season. The 23-year-old driver from Benschop, Netherlands, is returning immediately to the Dutch team MP Motorsport, as officially announced today. Formula 2 is the highest class below Formula 1. Verschoor previously raced for MP Motorsport in 2021, driving for the team in Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula 4, and Formula Renault.
The Dutch team announced via social media that Verschoor will also drive for MP in the last two races of this year, replacing Norwegian Dennis Hauger. Verschoor is transferring from the Italian team Trident.
“Returning to MP feels like coming home,” Verschoor says on the official Formula 2 website. Verschoor has won at least one race in every season he has competed in Formula 2. This season, he won the main race in Baku. Next season, he hopes to compete for the title, he indicates.
