Sergio Pérez is gearing up for the United States Grand Prix. The Mexican driver considers Austin as his home race, despite anticipating another challenging weekend. Over the past few months, Red Bull has been outperformed by rival McLaren, and Pérez has scored significantly fewer points than his teammate. “We need to step up our game,” he anticipates.

“It feels like we haven’t raced in a long time,” said Sergio Pérez. He’s not wrong; Formula 1 has enjoyed a three-week autumn break, but is kicking off a new triple header in Austin. “It’s good to be back,” Pérez added. “Moreover, the United States Grand Prix is one of my favorite races. Everyone always jokes that I have so many home races, but this one truly feels like coming home.”

“I’ve been training hard in Mexico over the past few weeks, while also regularly communicating with the team in Milton Keynes,” Checo continued. “We want to perform better in Austin. We’ve made several changes to the car, but it remains challenging to set up the car correctly in time, especially due to the sprint format. In that regard, we’re fortunate to have such a strong team.”

With six Grands Prix left on the calendar, it’s up to Sergio Pérez to prove himself as the second driver. The 34-year-old driver has consistently been outperformed by teammate Max Verstappen this year. While the Dutchman still leads the drivers’ championship, Pérez is in a disappointing eighth place. Meanwhile, younger drivers like Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda are eyeing his seat.
