The Formula 1 season has come to an end. In his annual report, driver and F1 analyst Tom Coronel assesses all the drivers in his unique way. After the top 3, it’s now time for the flop 3 of the past season. Today: Logan Sargeant, the former crash king of Williams with a very poor grade.

Logan Sargeant: 2.5

Tom Coronel: “Of course, we saw Logan Sargeant’s departure coming from miles away. Williams is a team that wants to grow. Well, then you need drivers who lift your team up. Because the chain always breaks at the weakest link. And at Williams, that was Logan Sargeant, that was crystal clear. And if you have ambitions as a team, you simply have to say goodbye.”

“Sargeant’s successor, Franco Colapinto, did better, absolutely. He caused more damage, but also scored more points. Colapinto made many mistakes, but he is a boy with growth potential. That was not the case for Sargeant. He lacked self-confidence and could not handle the criticism of his performances. He simply wasn’t strong enough and made mistakes that you can’t make. I do think he is a boy who can still be of value in other racing series, for example in the WEC. Because he is not super slow, but just not fast enough for Formula 1. Not by a long shot. Formula 1 is the highest of the high, let’s not forget that. In itself, it’s no shame if you fall short for that.
