The Formula 1 circus travels to Bahrain this weekend for the fourth Grand Prix of the season. The sport is in the midst of a busy triple header in April – the Bahrain International Circuit is the second stop in this trio, following Suzuka. While rain was initially forecast for the Japanese round, the race remained bone dry. The desert will be no different.

For the first time since 2020, Bahrain was not the setting for the opening race this year. Max Verstappen and his colleagues traditionally kicked off the season in Melbourne. There, the drivers were hit by heavy rain showers. This resulted in a spectacular race, in which no fewer than six drivers had to retire prematurely. Four rookies bit the dust, but veterans Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz also failed to reach the finish line. In the desert of Bahrain, we don’t have to worry about rain, although the circuit does present other challenges.

Weather Forecast for the Bahrain GP

On Friday, when the first free practice sessions are held, it will remain ‘simply’ dry. The chance of rain is simply zero percent. Moreover, it promises to be very warm on this first day at the circuit. During the day, it will be around 30 degrees Celsius; in the evening, it will cool down to about 26 degrees. In addition, the sun will shine all day. Equally important: gusts of wind are expected between 20 and 30 kilometers per hour. So, caution is advised!

During the final practice and the qualification on Saturday, it will also remain dry and cool slightly in Bahrain. The maximum temperature will be 28 degrees Celsius, again with zero chance of precipitation. The drivers will again have to take into account sudden gusts of wind – on Saturday, the wind will blow at speeds up to 25 kilometers per hour.

During the Grand Prix on Sunday, little will change. It promises to be around 29 degrees Celsius at the time of the race, with – unsurprisingly – no rain forecast. However, the wind will be much less strong: gusts of wind are expected between 5 and 15 kilometers per hour.
