Both Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda are fully prepared for the race weekend in Japan. The Japanese driver is looking forward to his debut for Red Bull, although he predicts an ‘insane’ week in his home country. Max Verstappen, on the other hand, hopes to get the most out of the race weekend at Suzuka, as Red Bull typically performs well on the Japanese circuit.

The Japanese Grand Prix will be a special race for Red Bull. Not only is the Austrian racing team paying tribute to Honda with a white livery, but Yuki Tsunoda is also making his debut. The Japanese driver finds it ‘awesome’ that he is finally being promoted to Red Bull during his home race.

“This week is going to be insane,” Tsunoda predicts in the Red Bull preview. “It’s a huge step for my career. The message I got from the team is that I should keep doing what I’m doing. I need to get as close as possible to Max, help with the constructors’ title, and be strategically useful in every race.”

Liam Lawson was demoted back to Racing Bulls after just two Grands Prix, partly because the New Zealander struggled with the ‘difficult to control’ RB21. Tsunoda realizes that this will also be a big challenge for him. “I’ve already driven the RB21 on the simulator, but my first time will be in free practice. I’ll have to adapt quickly.”

‘Always do well at Suzuka’

Tsunoda’s new teammate Max Verstappen is also looking forward to the Japanese race, and the busy week in which Red Bull welcomes the Japanese driver to the team. “The team has worked hard to optimize performance, and I’ve also jumped into the simulator. I always love racing at Suzuka. We usually do well on this circuit, so hopefully we can get the most out of the car and improve.”
