Williams will not be unveiling a new livery for the United States Grand Prix. Instead, the team has opted for a striking sticker on the rear wing. In collaboration with team sponsor and crypto-giant Kraken, six Williams fans will see their digital ‘alter-egos’ featured on the cars of Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto. These digital images were created by Web3 artist Candy Apple.

Previously, a whopping one hundred thousand Williams fans received a unique profile picture in the form of a collectible digital image. These were designed by the leading Web3 artist Candy Apple and pay homage to the team’s rich history. In the lead-up to the GP in Austin, six of these images will be affixed to the rear wing of the Williams car.

Subtle Changes

After several rounds of voting, the Grid Pass holders have chosen their favorite designs. These will make their first appearance on the rear wing of the FW46 at the upcoming United States Grand Prix. James Bower, Commercial Director of Williams, is delighted to involve the fans in this way. “We are always looking for innovative ways to share our history and ambition with our supporters,” he said. “This collection of digital images is a great example of that.”

This is the third time this year that Williams has made a subtle change to the livery. The British flag debuted on the flanks of the FW46 at the Silverstone Grand Prix, and in Monaco, the team raced with a sticker of the pink Duracell bunny on the air intake. A completely new color scheme has not been introduced so far. Alexander Albon is also a noted driver for Williams.
