Due to the significant upheaval at Alpine, several positions have been left vacant, not least of which is the team leader. Bruno Famin has been promoted to interim team leader while a permanent appointment is awaited. This places Famin in a dual role: since Laurent Rossi was sidelined as CEO of Alpine, Famin has also become the deputy director of the entire organization. Prior to this, he was already in charge of the team’s engine program.

Bruno Famin’s Long History in French Motorsport

Before Famin joined Alpine in 2022, he had a long history in French motorsport. As early as 1989, he joined the sports department of Peugeot. After thirty years in various roles within the organization, Famin left in 2019 to join the FIA. There, he served as the Operational Director. In this role, it was his task to combine the sporting aspects of motorsport with everything else the FIA does.

Famin Open to Long-Term Role as Team Leader

Although Famin has been appointed as interim team leader in principle, he has indicated that he is open to continuing in the role for a longer period. “For now, I am the team leader,” he said at the Belgian Grand Prix. “I will choose who will succeed me. But we are not in a hurry with that, it will come naturally. For now, we are managing just fine.”
